PRODUCT DESCRIPTION & CONDITIONS OF USE

1. PRODUCT PURPOSE & INTENDED USE

The WAY Watersports BoxWing Fin is designed for advanced kiteboarders seeking increased grip, better upwind performance, and enhanced control.

  • Designed for use with standard twintip kiteboards.

  • Optimized for deep water conditions with minimal obstacles.

  • For riders with prior experience, familiar with proper board control and fin dynamics.

 

Not intended for:

  • Beginner riders who lack experience with high-performance equipment.

  • Use in shallow waters, reefs, rocky areas, or seagrass-heavy environments.

  • Non-kiteboarding applications (e.g., windsurfing, wakeboarding).

 

2. RESPONSIBILITY FOR ENVIRONMENTAL & WEATHER CONDITIONS

Each rider is solely responsible for assessing environmental conditions, including wind, water depth, and surrounding obstacles, before use. The performance and handling of the fin may vary depending on weather conditions, water conditions, and the rider’s individual skills.

WAY Watersports assumes no liability for incidents caused by incorrect assessment of environmental risks, changing weather conditions, or external factors beyond the rider’s control.

 

3. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS & USER RESPONSIBILITY

 

3.1. HANDLING & INSTALLATION PRECAUTIONS

  • Do not insert any body parts into the fins—risk of serious injury.

  • When installing, ensure no sand, salt, or debris is inside the mounting holes to avoid cross-threading or damage to the screws.

  • Hand-tighten all screws firmly but do not overtighten, as excessive force can damage the mounting system.

  • Regularly inspect all mounting components for loose screws, cracks, or wear before each session.

 

3.2. RIDING SAFETY

  • Riders should be aware of the fin’s sharp edges and increased grip, which can affect board control.

  • Ensure the area is clear of other riders and objects before attempting high-speed maneuvers.

  • Avoid jumping or tricks in shallow waters where the fin could strike the ground.

  • If the fin comes into contact with another object, inspect for cracks or damage before continued use.

 

4. MAINTENANCE & CARE

 

4.1. RINSING & CLEANING

  • Always rinse the fin and mounting screws with fresh water after each session to remove salt, sand, and dirt.

  • Pay special attention to the mounting holes and threads, as trapped sand can damage the threading and make removal difficult.

  • Do not use harsh chemicals or solvents—clean only with fresh water and a soft cloth.

 

4.2. STORAGE & TRANSPORTATION

  • Store the fins in a dry, shaded place away from direct sunlight or extreme heat, which can weaken materials over time.

  • Avoid stacking heavy objects on top of the fins to prevent warping or stress fractures.

  • When transporting the board, ensure the fins are protected from direct impacts, dragging, or compression.

 

4.3. LONGEVITY & REGULAR CHECKS

  • Before each use, inspect the fin for cracks, loose screws, or signs of wear.

  • If any structural damage is found, do not continue using the fin—replace or repair before further use.

  • Periodically apply a small amount of silicone-based or non-corrosive lubricant to the screw threads to prevent salt buildup and ensure smooth removal.

 

5. SPECIAL NOTES ON SHAPE & POTENTIAL DAMAGE TO OTHER OBJECTS & EQUIPMENT

  • The BoxWing Fin features a tapered profile, optimizing water flow and performance. Due to its sharp trailing edge, special care must be taken to avoid accidental damage to:

    • Kites & kite lines.

    • Boards & footstraps.

    • Other riders’ equipment.

    • Boats, docks, or any objects the fin might come into contact with during transport or storage.

Liability Disclaimer for Consequential Damages:
WAY Watersports assumes no liability for damage to any objects, property, or equipment caused by improper handling or contact with the fin. Users are responsible for proper maintenance and careful handling.

 

6. MODIFICATIONS & LIABILITY DISCLAIMER

 

Prohibited Modifications:

  • Any unauthorized modifications (e.g., reshaping, drilling, repainting, or adjusting the mounting system) immediately void the warranty.

  • The use of non-standard mounting screws or attachments is not recommended and may result in improper installation.

 

WAY Watersports is not liable for:

  • Injuries or damages caused by altered, modified, or improperly repaired fins.

  • Failures resulting from improper mounting or use outside recommended conditions.

 

By purchasing and using this product, the customer acknowledges that:

  • They are responsible for proper use and maintenance.

  • They have read and understood all safety guidelines.

  • They waive any liability claims against WAY Watersports arising from improper use.

 

7. ADDITIONAL TIPS FOR OPTIMAL PERFORMANCE

 

  • Always check local wind and water conditions before riding.

  • If performance feels off, inspect the mounting screws—loose screws can reduce efficiency.

  • Keep a small screwdriver and extra screws in your kite repair kit for emergency adjustments.

  • Do not store wet fins in closed bags—ensure they are dry to prevent material degradation.
